The wait is over, much-awaited power star Pawan Kalyan’s katamarayudu has hit big screens Worldwide on Friday, March 23rd. Directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani (Dolly) and produced by Sharrath Marar under the banner North Star Entertainment.
It is the remake of a Tamil hit Veeram that was also dubbed into Telugu as Veerudokkade.
Katamarayudu is a usual mass entertainer with Pawan playing the role of an elder in a family of five brothers. Katamarayudu (Pawan Kalyan) is the most powerful guy in his village. He has four brothers and is unmarried. How he falls in love and what happens afterward is what the movie is all about.
The narration got changes according to the Pawan Kalyan’s body language without disturbing the soul of the story. Katamarayudu can be stated as another exemplar of one man show by Pawan Kalyan. He proves once again that his gestures in acting made him unique from the lot. Giving justice to the action he is impressive in fight sequences with an ease.
The first half of Katamarayudu is a stir of fresh and re-enacted scenes from the original movie. The songs are placed very tidily according to the necessity and comedy is well blended into the narration without making the one feel absurd.
The second half failed to maintain the fun carried from the first. This part of the movie concentrated mostly on action and drama with less entertaining factors, which makes the audience to feel the lack of freshness as the story is predictable. The songs in the second part even mount the despairing mood. The climax is very lengthy and gets tiresome after a point.
Shruti Haasan is given a village girl look for her character. She pulls it off well. The glamor aspect is only for the songs. Shiva Balaji, Ajay, Chaitanya and Kamal Kamaraju are well-justified as brothers. After a long time, Ali got a good comedy role that made to feel bit refreshment. Even Rao Ramesh provides fun along with the plot. Nasser, Tarun Arora, Pradeep Rawat were justified the roles given to them
The cinematography is good, and editing is sharp. Dialogues are good throughout without too much rhyming. The choreography of songs, especially in the second half should have been a lot better.VFX used in the background are clearly recognizable at places and are bad.
First half Entertainment
Katamarayudu Rating: 3/5
Katamarayudu Review Final Verdict: Out and Out commercial family entertainer.
